Express Entry: Canada Invites 345 PNP Candidates in Latest Draw

Canada invited 345 candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) in its newest Express Entry draw, setting the minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score at 778.

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has invited more candidates through the Express Entry system. The department issued 345 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) in the latest draw held for Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) candidates.

To qualify for this round, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 778. They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 7:58 p.m. UTC on July 17, 2025.

This draw continues the trend of frequent PNP rounds in 2025. It marks the 19th PNP draw of the year, showing Canada’s strong focus on regional immigration pathways.

Growing Role of PNP in Canada’s Immigration

PNP draws have become the most frequent type of Express Entry invitations this year. The rise follows reduced immigration allocations to provinces in 2024.

So far, IRCC has issued 70,683 ITAs in total through Express Entry in 2025. These invitations went to candidates across different categories, including Provincial Nominee, Canadian Experience Class (CEC), French-language proficiency, healthcare and education sectors, and trade occupations.

Among all, French-language proficiency and Canadian Experience Class draws have issued the largest number of invitations, with 30,000 and 21,850 ITAs respectively.

A Busy Month for Express Entry

October has already seen three major draws. On October 6, 4,500 candidates were invited in a French-language category draw with a CRS cut-off of 432. Earlier on October 1, 1,000 candidates received invitations under the Canadian Experience Class with a CRS score of 534.

The latest PNP draw on October 14 adds to this momentum, following the previous PNP round on September 29, which issued 291 invitations with a higher cut-off of 855.

These back-to-back draws highlight IRCC’s active approach in selecting skilled candidates from diverse categories.

Express Entry Trends in 2025

Throughout 2025, IRCC has consistently targeted candidates who meet Canada’s workforce needs. The Provincial Nominee Program leads with 19 draws, followed by 10 Canadian Experience Class rounds, six French-language proficiency draws, four for healthcare and social services, two for education, and one for trade occupations.

The data shows a clear effort to balance national and provincial priorities. Provinces continue to benefit from tailored selection under the PNP, helping fill local labour gaps and strengthen regional economies.

What This Means for Candidates

A CRS score of 778 makes this round one of the more competitive draws. PNP candidates generally require higher CRS scores because they already hold a provincial nomination, which adds 600 points to their profile.

Those hoping to qualify for future draws should ensure their profiles are complete and up to date, with strong credentials in language ability, work experience, and education.

IRCC’s pattern shows a steady mix of draws across streams, keeping opportunities open for a wide range of skilled professionals aiming to make Canada their home.
