Express Entry: IRCC Holds The First Draw Of September

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 249 invitations to apply (ITAs) for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) through the Express Entry system. This marks the first Express Entry draw of September 2025.

Eligibility and Scores
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 772. They also had to create an Express Entry profile before 7:19 p.m. UTC on August 28, 2025. These requirements ensured that only highly qualified candidates received invitations.

IRCC has conducted multiple Express Entry draws so far this year, targeting different categories of candidates. PNP candidates received 16 draws. Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates had 8 draws. French-language proficiency candidates had 4 draws, while healthcare and social services workers also had 4 draws. Focus on PNP Draws
Express Entry draws this year mainly prioritized PNP candidates. These draws allow provinces to nominate skilled workers who meet their labour market needs. Other ITAs went to CEC candidates, French-speaking applicants, and priority occupation candidates, including healthcare and social services workers.

Next Steps for Candidates
Candidates who receive ITAs must submit a complete application to IRCC for permanent residence. Meeting the CRS score requirement and submitting all required documents on time is crucial. Successful candidates can move forward with permanent residence applications, giving them a clear path to settle in Canada.
