Express Entry: Canada Invites 4,000 Healthcare Workers in New Draw

On July 22, Canada selected 4,000 skilled workers from healthcare and social service fields through its Express Entry program.

Canada continues to open its doors to skilled workers. On July 22, the immigration department invited 4,000 new applicants under the Express Entry system. This draw targeted people working in healthcare and social services.

Minimum Score and Profile Deadline

To qualify, applicants needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 475. They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 1:08 p.m. UTC on March 13, 2025.

This is the fourth Express Entry draw held in July. It followed three earlier ones:

Total Invitations in 2025 So Far

So far in 2025, Canada has sent out 49,403 invitations to apply (ITAs) through Express Entry. These draws have mostly focused on candidates from the PNP, CEC, French-speaking applicants, and workers in specific occupations like healthcare, education, and social services.

Breakdown of 2025 Draws

Here's how the draws have looked this year:

  • 13 PNP draws
  • 7 Canadian Experience Class (CEC) draws
  • 3 focused on French-language skills
  • 3 for healthcare and social services
  • 1 for education professionals

Why This Draw Matters

This latest round gives another chance to healthcare workers looking for permanent residency in Canada. With a score of 475, many mid-range candidates now have a better shot. Earlier, many draws required scores above 500.

Canada uses these category-based draws to fill jobs in sectors that need more workers. If your job falls under healthcare or social services and you have at least six months of work experience, you're in luck. This experience can be inside or outside Canada.

Hiring Needs Still High in Canada

Employers across the country still struggle to find qualified staff in these sectors. That’s why draws like this one are important. They help Canada meet its healthcare needs faster.

What to Expect Ahead

The Express Entry system has followed a regular pattern since June 10. The immigration department has been alternating between PNP and CEC draws every two weeks. More healthcare-focused draws may continue if demand remains high.

If you’re planning to apply, make sure your profile is complete and updated. Even a small delay could make you miss out.
