Canada selected 511 new applicants through a PNP draw on May 12, 2025.
Canada’s immigration department has sent out 511 invitations to apply for permanent residency. These invites went to candidates who applied through the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP). This draw took place on May 12, 2025.
To get selected in this round, candidates needed at least 706 points under the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 10:35 p.m. UTC on March 4, 2025.
Third Express Entry Draw in May
This draw is the third one held this month. Two earlier draws took place on May 1 and May 2. The first was for candidates in education, and the second was for those in healthcare and social services.
So far in 2025, Canada has sent out 33,940 invitations under different Express Entry draws.
A Quick Look at 2025 Draws
This year, Canada has focused mostly on PNP candidates. The rest of the draws have selected candidates in the Canadian Experience Class (CEC) and other priority categories. These include those with strong French language skills, education backgrounds, and work experience in healthcare or social services.
Here is a summary of the Express Entry draws so far in 2025:
Who Applies Through Express Entry?
People from over 100 countries apply to Canada through Express Entry each year. Canada does not look at the applicant’s nationality. Instead, it focuses on the person’s skills and their chances of doing well in the Canadian job market.
Applicants get a CRS score. This score is based on their age, education level, language skills, work experience, and other qualities.
Because of this system, Express Entry brings in people from many different job fields and backgrounds. It helps Canada find the best talent from around the world.
