Peace Liard Reveals Key Jobs For Rural PR Program

The Peace Liard region in northeast British Columbia has shared its list of top sectors and occupations for a special immigration program. This area includes towns like Fort St. John, Dawson Creek, Tumbler Ridge, Chetwynd, and others. The list is part of the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP), which helps foreign workers get permanent residency.

What is the RCIP?

This program helps smaller communities bring in skilled workers. Foreign nationals who get a job offer from a listed employer in one of the towns can apply for permanent residency. The job offer must be full-time and permanent.

The region has chosen five important sectors for this program:

  • Natural resources and agriculture
  • Science and applied technology
  • Education and community services
  • Sales and service
  • Trades and transport

Jobs from these sectors are the main focus. Employers in these areas can become official RCIP employers.
