PEI Backs International Graduates in Latest Immigration Draw

Prince Edward Island issued 109 invitations to immigration candidates during its February 19, 2026 draw held through the Provincial Nominee Program.

Prince Edward Island continues to focus on skilled workers and international graduates as it moves ahead with its 2026 immigration plans.

Latest Draw Held in February

On February 19, 2026, Prince Edward Island conducted its newest selection round under the PEI Provincial Nominee Program (PEI PNP). The draw followed the province’s expected Invitation to Apply (ITA) schedule for the year.

In this round, the province issued 109 invitations through its Labour Impact and Express Entry categories. Officials selected candidates who show strong ties to the province and who work in fields that support PEI’s economy.

Focus on Key Sectors

PEI targeted workers in areas that face ongoing labour shortages. According to the PEI Office of Immigration, these include healthcare, skilled trades, manufacturing, and other important industries that help drive the local economy.

The province also placed extra focus on international graduates from certain designated learning institutions. Graduates from the following schools received added attention:

  • University of Prince Edward Island
  • Holland College
  • Collège de l’Île

By supporting graduates who studied locally, the province aims to retain talent already familiar with the community and workforce.

At the same time, officials noted that candidates working in sales and service roles may not receive invitations at this stage.

Upcoming Draw Dates in 2026

Prince Edward Island plans to continue holding regular draws throughout the year. If the province follows its projected schedule, the next selection rounds will take place on:

  • March 19, 2026
  • April 16, 2026

The full list of expected draw dates for the rest of 2026 includes:

  • May 21
  • June 18
  • July 16
  • August 20
  • September 17
  • October 15
  • November 19
  • December 17

However, the province clearly states that these dates serve only as general guidance. They do not guarantee that a draw will occur or that applications will move forward on those exact days.

Choosing the Right Immigration Stream

Newcomers who wish to apply under PEI’s provincial immigration programs can begin by using the province’s Workforce Program Selector Tool.

This online tool works like a short survey. It asks users questions about their age, education, work experience, and job offers, if any. Based on the answers, it suggests which PEI workforce stream may suit them best.

Officials describe the tool as a starting point only. It helps applicants understand where they might fit, but it does not confirm eligibility.

The province advises candidates to take two practical steps:

  1. Complete the Workforce Program Selector Tool to identify possible pathways.
  2. Carefully review the official Workforce Application Guide before submitting an Expression of Interest or a full application.

By following this approach, applicants can better understand program requirements and improve their chances of success.

Prince Edward Island continues to adjust its immigration strategy to meet labour market needs while encouraging skilled workers and graduates to build their future in the province.
