Yukon Increases Provincial Nominations For 2025 Permanent Residence

Yukon boosts 2025 YNP spots to 282, adding 67 more nominations.

Yukon has received 67 extra nomination spots for its Yukon Nominee Program (YNP) this year. This brings the total 2025 allocation to 282, up from 215. The province announced the increase on August 21, 2025.

New Invitations for Applicants

Processing of carry-over applications, previously issued Invitations to Apply (ITAs), and 13 ITA withdrawals allow Yukon to issue 80 new invitations in August 2025.

Employer Submissions Drive Growth

Yukon requested more allocations to help local employers nominate foreign workers. In March, the YNP adopted an Expression of Interest (EOI) system. Over 500 submissions arrived from employers nominating foreign candidates for immigration.

The EOI intake ran from March 31 to April 22. ITAs were issued to candidates who:

  • Lived and worked in Yukon for at least one year
  • Graduated from a Yukon post-secondary school
  • Are French-speaking (Francophone)
  • Held a Temporary Measure Letter of Support from the province

Nearly 400 submissions matched these provincial priorities.

ITAs Issued in 2025

From carry-over applications between 2024 and January 22, 2025, 54 were processed, leaving 161 nominations. Between May 23–27, Yukon issued 153 ITAs:

  • 19 Temporary Measure Letter of Support recipients (carry-over)
  • 54 Temporary Measure Letter of Support recipients (2025)
  • 78 applicants aligned with other priorities
  • 2 regulated healthcare professionals

After 13 ITA withdrawals, 80 invitations remain. The province has reserved 10 spots for regulated healthcare roles until September 20, 2025. Employers can submit applications for these spots.

YNP Program Details

Candidates need a full-time, permanent job offer from a qualified Yukon employer. YNP has four streams: Critical Impact Worker, Skilled Worker, Express Entry, and Yukon Community Program Pilot (closed).

Critical Impact Worker stream accepts TEER 4 or 5 jobs. Skilled Worker and Express Entry accept TEER 0–3 jobs. Employers submit EOI applications during intake. Selected employers nominate candidates matching provincial priorities. Approved nominees sign a Tri-Partite Agreement and can then apply to Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada for permanent residence within six months.

Yukon also offers the Yukon Business Nominee Program for entrepreneurs, which has separate eligibility rules.
