New Canada Strong Pass Offers Free Parks & Big Museum Discounts

Canada is offering free and discounted entry to parks, museums, and train travel across the country from June 20 to September 2, 2025, through a new program called the Strong Pass.

This summer, Canada is making it easier for people to explore the country. From June 20 to September 2, 2025, the Canada Strong Pass gives everyone free access to all national parks, historic sites, and marine conservation areas.

You don't need to buy or sign up for the pass. Just visit any participating place and enjoy the benefits. There is no card, no digital pass, and no payment needed.

Special Offers for Children and Young Adults
Children aged 17 and under can travel for free on VIA Rail if an adult with a valid ticket joins them. They also get free admission to national museums and some local ones.

Young adults aged 18 to 24 get a 25% discount on VIA Rail tickets and 50% off museum entries. These offers are valid only on Economy and Escape fares. To use them, you must enter promo codes during booking:

  • CANADAFAM for children and youth (17 and under)
  • CANADA1824 for ages 18 to 24

Deals for All Ages
No matter your age, you can enjoy a lot of savings with the Strong Pass:

  • Free entry to all Parks Canada sites
  • 25% off on campgrounds and lodges
  • Free backcountry day-use in northern parks
  • 25% off on overnight backcountry stays in the north
  • Free lockage on historic canals
  • Discounts on select guided tours and other site offers
  • Partial refunds for already-paid services

Backcountry Access in the North
While parks in the Yukon, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories don’t charge regular entry fees, they do offer paid services for the backcountry. This summer, day-use is free, and overnight stays get a 25% discount.

Museums and Galleries Join In
All children get free access to national museums and galleries. Young adults get in at half price. Some provincial and territorial museums are also joining in with the same offers.

Already Paid for a Pass or Booking?
You might get some money back. If you already bought a seasonal park pass or booked a campsite for this summer, you may receive a partial refund or an extension. Online purchases will be refunded automatically. In-person buyers need to contact the site directly.

People with VIA Rail bookings between June 20 and September 2, made before June 16, 2025, can also ask for a partial refund. Just fill out the refund form on their official website.

Everyone in Canada can use this offer:

Travel and Explore Freely
The goal is to help more people enjoy Canada’s beauty and culture without worrying about costs. “With fewer financial barriers, we hope even more people will have the chance to explore our stunning landscapes, vibrant cities, and rich cultural heritage,” said Anna Gainey, Secretary of State for Children and Youth.
