Express Entry: Canada Invites 202 PNP Candidates in Latest Draw

On July 21, Canada sent out 202 invitations to provincial nominees through the Express Entry system.

Canada’s immigration department invited 202 new applicants to apply for permanent residence on July 21, 2025. These invitations were sent under the Express Entry system. Only candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) were selected in this round.

To be chosen, applicants needed to score at least 788 points on the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS). They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 11:50 p.m. UTC on June 5, 2025.

Focus on PNP Draws Continues in 2025

This is the third draw in July, after a CEC draw on July 8 and another PNP draw on July 7.

So far in 2025, the government has issued 45,403 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) through Express Entry. Most of these draws have focused on PNP candidates. Some draws also targeted those with:

  • Canadian work experience
  • French language skills
  • Specific job categories (healthcare, education, etc.)

Can You Still Immigrate at Age 40?

Many people wonder if age 40 is too late to apply. The answer is no, but your CRS score will be lower.

People aged 20 to 29 earn the most points for age (110). After that, the points reduce each year. At age 40, you get only 50 points. By age 45, age-related points drop to zero.

But don't worry. You still have two good options:

1. Category-Based Draws

Canada holds special draws for people with certain skills or work experience. These draws often have lower CRS cut-offs.

In 2025, one such draw had a cut-off as low as 379. These draws give older candidates a better shot at receiving an invitation.

There are six categories right now. These include job fields and language skills that Canada is targeting.

2. Provincial Nominations (PNP)

This is another strong path for people over 40. Every province in Canada (except Quebec and Nunavut) has its own programs.

If you get selected by a province through an Express Entry-linked stream, you receive 600 extra CRS points. This huge boost almost guarantees that you’ll get invited soon.
