Ontario invited 1,112 candidates to apply for provincial nomination on March 25, 2026, through five focused draws. The province selected applicants who already hold job offers in high-demand roles across different regions.
Officials ran these draws under three main streams: Foreign Worker, International Student, and In-Demand Skills. Candidates needed to live in Canada at the time with a valid work or study permit to qualify.
This round marks the fourth set of invitations issued this year, following earlier draws in February and March.
The province spread invitations across five regions, with each area receiving a different share based on labour needs.
The Greater Toronto Area led with 431 invitations. Southwestern Ontario followed with 251, while Central Ontario received 199 and Eastern Ontario 174. Northern Ontario saw the smallest number, with 57 invitations.
Each region set its own score cut-offs for candidates. In the GTA, applicants needed at least 61 points under the Foreign Worker stream and 90 under the International Student stream. Other regions set slightly lower or varied score requirements depending on local demand.
Candidates needed to submit their profiles by March 23, 2026. Officials did not consider profiles created before July 2, 2025.
The draws focused on a wide range of occupations, reflecting labour shortages across sectors.
In the GTA, technology and health care roles stood out. The province targeted software engineers, web developers, and registered nurses.
Outside the GTA, the draws covered more varied jobs. These included administrative officers, physiotherapists, practical nurses, and several skilled trades positions.
The In-Demand Skills stream appeared only in Central and Eastern Ontario. It focused on home support workers, a role that continues to see strong demand.
Candidates who received invitations now need to act quickly. Employers must review program guidelines and submit job position approvals within 14 days.
At the same time, candidates must complete and submit their applications within 17 days of receiving their invitation.
Once Ontario grants a nomination, successful applicants can move forward and apply to the federal government for permanent residence.
Ontario plans major changes to its immigration program. New rules under the provincial immigration law will take effect on May 30, 2026.
These changes will remove the current streams used in this draw. The province plans to replace them with a single Employer Job Offer stream, which will include two pathways based on skill level.
Officials also plan to introduce three new streams focused on health care, entrepreneurs, and highly skilled talent.
The province has not yet shared details about when these new streams will open or how current applicants may transition.
