Canada selected 2,000 candidates from the Canadian Experience Class in its latest Express Entry draw, setting the minimum score required at 515.
Canada’s immigration department has invited more skilled workers to apply for permanent residence through its Express Entry system. In the latest round, officials issued 2,000 invitations to candidates under the Canadian Experience Class (CEC).
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 515 to receive an invitation. They also had to submit their Express Entry profile before 2:46 a.m. UTC on June 10, 2025.
This draw shows a sharp rise in competition. The cut-off score jumped by six points compared to the previous CEC draw. This increase marks the biggest jump seen so far this year.
The latest round also stands out as the smallest CEC draw in 2026. Earlier, the March 31 round issued 2,250 invitations, slightly higher than the current number.
So far this year, immigration officials have focused strongly on candidates who already live and work in Canada. Many selected applicants hold Canadian work experience or provincial nominations.
Authorities have held several types of draws throughout 2026. These include selections for provincial nominees, French-speaking candidates, healthcare workers, tradespeople, and senior managers. However, CEC candidates continue to receive the largest share of invitations.
Since January, officials have conducted multiple rounds across different categories. Provincial Nominee Program draws have taken place eight times, while CEC draws have occurred seven times. French-language candidates have seen three draws, and other categories have appeared less often.
The current draw marks the twenty-second Express Entry round this year and the seventh under the CEC program.
Canada has issued a total of 61,154 invitations through Express Entry in 2026 so far. Among these, CEC candidates have received the largest portion, with 32,250 invitations.
French-speaking applicants follow with 18,000 invitations. Healthcare and social services workers have received 4,000 invitations, while trades candidates have secured 3,000. Provincial nominees account for 3,263 invitations, with smaller numbers going to physicians and senior managers.
The rising CRS score shows that competition continues to grow among candidates. Applicants with strong profiles, especially those with Canadian work experience, stand a better chance of receiving invitations.
As the year progresses, candidates may need higher scores or additional qualifications to stay competitive in future draw
