Manitoba Invites 77 Skilled Workers in Latest PNP Draw

Manitoba’s latest immigration draw focused on skilled workers invited through strategic recruitment initiatives.

Manitoba invited 77 skilled workers to apply for provincial nomination on July 2, as the province continued targeted selections through the Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program.

The latest draw was held under the Skilled Worker Stream and focused on candidates who had been directly invited by the province through strategic recruitment initiatives. It marked Manitoba’s 13th MPNP selection round of 2026.

Invitations Issued Through Two Pathways

The province invited candidates through both Skilled Worker Stream pathways: Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas.

To be considered in this round, candidates needed to show in their Expression of Interest profile that they had received an invitation through a recruitment mission. Candidates could also qualify if they had been invited under the now-expired Temporary Public Policy to Facilitate Work Permits for Prospective Provincial Nominee Candidates, known as the TPP.

Of the 77 Letters of Advice to Apply issued, 15 went to candidates who had a valid Express Entry profile number and job seeker validation code.

Employer Services Received the Largest Share

The largest number of invitations went to candidates under the Employer Services initiative. This group received 36 invitations, making up 46.8 per cent of the total.

Another 31 invitations, or 40.3 per cent, went to candidates connected to the TPP. The Francophone Community initiative received eight invitations, while Regional Communities received two.

Manitoba has been holding targeted draws for people who received Support Letters under the TPP. The province announced on May 1 that it would begin selecting these candidates, starting with those approved between April 22 and June 30, 2025.

Since that announcement, Manitoba has issued 579 invitations to people with TPP Support Letters. Most of those invitations, 74.1 per cent, were issued in the first related draw held on May 7.

Why Some Candidates May Not Have Been Selected

The province said some candidates may not have received an invitation even if they appeared to meet the draw conditions.

This could happen if a candidate listed an approved English or French language test in their EOI profile, but the test identification number was missing, invalid, or linked to expired results.

A candidate may also have been left out if they claimed they were invited through a strategic recruitment initiative but did not include a valid invitation number.

Manitoba’s 2026 Nomination Activity

As of July 2, Manitoba has issued 1,910 invitations to apply for provincial nomination in 2026.

The federal government gave Manitoba 6,239 nomination spaces for the year. By May 30, the province had nominated 2,165 skilled workers, according to figures released by the Government of Manitoba.

The difference between invitations issued and nominations approved may be linked to applications carried over from 2025. Some nominations approved this year may have come from Letters of Advice to Apply issued last year.

The MPNP also publishes monthly data for the Skilled Worker Stream. This includes Expressions of Interest drawn, nominations issued, applications received, applications in assessment or pending assessment, and refusals. The latest available 2026 data covers the period from January 1 to May 30.
