Canada's latest Express Entry selection brings fresh permanent residence opportunities as major immigration scoring changes approach.
Canada has invited another 792 provincial nominees to apply for permanent residence through its latest Express Entry draw, held on October 26, 2026.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) selected candidates under the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP), continuing its focus on applicants with established connections to Canadian provinces.
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 761 to qualify. They also needed to have created their Express Entry profiles before 6:00:26 p.m. UTC on April 3, 2026.
The October 26 round marked Canada's 63rd Express Entry draw of 2026.
It also recorded the largest number of invitations for provincial nominees since June 22, when IRCC selected 955 candidates.
Earlier in October, the department invited 752 provincial nominees on October 13, with a minimum CRS score of 772.
Other recent selections included 5,000 French-speaking candidates on October 16 and 2,500 Canadian Experience Class applicants on October 15.
These figures show Canada's continued interest in candidates who meet specific immigration and workforce priorities.
IRCC has issued 144,259 invitations across various Express Entry categories so far this year.
Canadian Experience Class candidates received the largest share, with 57,250 invitations across 18 draws.
French-language proficiency selections followed closely, accounting for 55,500 invitations through 11 rounds.
Provincial nominees received 10,814 invitations across 21 draws, while healthcare and social services candidates accounted for another 11,500.
Trades occupations received 6,500 invitations, and candidates in transport occupations received 300.
Additional selections targeted physicians with Canadian work experience, senior managers and skilled military recruits.
Canada will introduce significant changes to its Express Entry scoring system on November 3, 2026.
The new Labour Market Integration Factor will reward eligible candidates with Canadian work experience or qualifying job offers in high-wage occupations.
Depending on the occupation's wage level, applicants may receive additional points.
Qualifying job offers can provide up to 100 points, while eligible Canadian work experience can contribute to a maximum of 150 points for applicants without an accompanying spouse or common-law partner.
Applicants with an accompanying spouse or partner can receive up to 140 points.
The government has identified 186 eligible occupations under the changes.
IRCC will also remove Labour Market Impact Assessment requirements for qualifying job offers, although immigration officers must still confirm their authenticity.
The department plans to temporarily pause Express Entry invitations while it recalculates candidate scores. This process could take up to two weeks.
Eligible applicants living in Canada may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit after submitting their permanent residence applications.
Those who apply before their existing permits expire may continue working under maintained status, provided they meet the requirements.
Qualifying family members may also access open work permits.
