British Columbia Invites Investors Through Latest BCPNP Draw

British Columbia’s latest entrepreneur draw invited business candidates through two BCPNP immigration streams.

British Columbia has issued new invitations to entrepreneurs who want to build or buy businesses in the province, continuing a steady run of business immigration draws in 2026.

The latest British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program draw was held on June 30, 2026. The province invited 14 candidates through the Entrepreneur Immigration Base stream, with a minimum score of 118 points.

British Columbia also invited fewer than five candidates through the Entrepreneur Immigration Regional stream. The minimum score for that stream was 113 points.

A Small but Targeted Draw

Entrepreneur draws are much smaller than worker-focused provincial nominee draws, which often invite larger groups of skilled workers. That is because the entrepreneur program is designed for applicants who can bring more than labour to the province.

Candidates are expected to offer business experience, investment capital, job creation, and a long-term commitment to British Columbia’s economy. This explains why invitation numbers remain limited throughout the year.

As of June 2026, British Columbia had issued up to 103 entrepreneur invitations. Across all BCPNP streams, the province had issued 2,867 invitations.

Two Business Immigration Streams

British Columbia uses two main entrepreneur pathways.

The Entrepreneur Immigration Base stream is for experienced business owners and senior managers who want to start a new business or purchase an existing one anywhere in the province. Successful applicants must invest in a qualifying business, manage daily operations, create jobs, and meet performance commitments before receiving a provincial nomination.

The Entrepreneur Immigration Regional stream focuses on smaller participating communities. These communities work with entrepreneurs to identify local business needs before candidates register. The goal is to bring investment, employers, and new residents to areas outside major urban centres.

Scores Stay Fairly Stable

The latest scores suggest British Columbia is keeping consistent selection standards for business candidates.

Recent Base stream cut-off scores in 2026 were 115 in January, 121 in February, 117 in March, 115 in April, 115 in May, 117 in June, and 118 on June 30.

The pattern does not show major swings. Instead, the province appears to be selecting candidates based on business strength, investment plans, and economic fit.

How Selection Works

Entrepreneur candidates do not apply for nomination immediately. First, they submit a registration that outlines their business background, proposed investment, and business concept.

The province scores each profile using factors such as business experience, personal investment, economic benefit, adaptability, the business idea, and regional priorities. The highest-ranking candidates receive Invitations to Apply during scheduled draws.

What Applicants Should Consider

The program suits people with proven ownership or management experience, enough personal net worth, investment capacity, and a clear plan to operate a business in British Columbia.

Meeting minimum eligibility rules does not guarantee an invitation. Candidates compete within the registration pool, so preparation is important.

Applicants should refine their business proposal, research local markets, prepare financial records, and consider whether a regional community may offer a strong fit.

The June 30 draw shows that entrepreneur immigration remains a selective but active pathway. For qualified business owners, it can support a move toward permanent residence while helping British Columbia attract investment, create jobs, and strengthen local economies.
