Express Entry: Canada Issues 511 Invitations in Latest PNP Draw

Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada has invited 511 provincial nominees to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry.

The July 20 draw required candidates to have a Comprehensive Ranking System score of at least 744. IRCC also applied a tie-breaking rule: candidates with the minimum score needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 6:11 p.m. UTC on May 26, 2026.

The invitation does not grant permanent residence automatically. Selected candidates must submit a complete application and meet the requirements of the immigration program listed in their invitation.

Provincial Nomination Lifts Scores

Express Entry ranks candidates using the CRS, which awards points for factors such as age, education, language ability and work experience.

A nomination from a province or territory adds 600 points to a candidate’s CRS total. That large increase explains why cut-off scores in Provincial Nominee Program draws are often higher than those seen in Canadian Experience Class or occupation-based rounds.

Candidates who receive an invitation have 60 calendar days to submit their online permanent residence application. They should confirm that the information in their profile remains accurate before applying.

Cut-Off Rises From Previous PNP Round

The July 20 selection was the second Provincial Nominee Program draw of the month. On July 6, IRCC invited 534 provincial nominees with a minimum CRS score of 708.

The latest cut-off was therefore 36 points higher, while the number of invitations fell by 23.

The July round followed several other targeted selections. IRCC invited 500 senior managers with Canadian work experience on July 10, after inviting 5,000 candidates with strong French-language skills on July 9. A Canadian Experience Class draw on July 7 issued 2,000 invitations with a cut-off of 517.

Canadian Experience Remains Central

IRCC has held 39 Express Entry draws in 2026. The department has mainly selected people with Canadian work experience, provincial nominations, strong French skills or experience in targeted occupations.

Canadian Experience Class rounds have issued 43,250 invitations so far. French-language rounds have produced 35,500 invitations, while Provincial Nominee Program draws have issued 6,450.

Healthcare and social services rounds have accounted for 8,000 invitations. Trades candidates have received 3,000, physicians with Canadian experience have received 662, and senior managers with Canadian experience have received 750.

Together, the listed 2026 draws account for 97,612 invitations, based on IRCC’s published round results.

What Invited Candidates Should Do

Candidates should review their invitation carefully, gather supporting documents and recalculate their CRS score if their circumstances have changed.

IRCC warns that a lower recalculated score could affect eligibility. Candidates whose updated score falls below the draw’s minimum may need to decline the invitation rather than submit an application that does not meet the round’s conditions.

Express Entry manages applications for several federal economic immigration programs and part of the Provincial Nominee Program. Receiving an invitation is a major step, but IRCC still reviews each application before making a final decision.
