Express Entry: Canada Invites More PNP Candidates for Permanent Residency

Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has issued 725 invitations to apply (ITAs) in the latest Express Entry draw. The draw, held on March 3, focused on candidates from the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

To be eligible, candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 667. They also had to create their Express Entry profile before 6:25 PM UTC on June 5, 2024.

Express Entry Draws in 2025

So far in 2025, most Express Entry draws have targeted PNP and Canadian Experience Class (CEC) candidates. The IRCC has held only one category-based selection draw this year.

In February alone, Canada issued over 11,000 ITAs. The month saw five draws, including two for PNP candidates, two for CEC candidates, and one for those with strong French language skills.

Required Documents for ITA

If a candidate receives an ITA and wants to apply for permanent residency, they must submit several important documents. These include:

• Personal Identification: A valid passport and birth certificate.
• Language Test Results: Proof of language proficiency.
• Work Experience Proof: Documents showing previous employment history.
• Police Clearance: Certificates from places where they lived for six months or more after turning 18.
• Medical Exam Receipt: If required.
• Photographs: Regulation-sized pictures of the applicant and family members.

Depending on their application, they may also need:

• Education Credentials: Canadian certificates or an Education Credential Assessment (ECA) for foreign education.
• Employment Proof: A job offer letter from a Canadian employer.
• Proof of Funds: To show they can support themselves in Canada.
• Family Relationship Proof: Documents proving family ties in Canada.
• Marriage or Divorce Certificates: If applicable.
• Work Contracts and Tax Documents: Additional proof of employment.
