Manitoba's latest immigration draw prioritizes local graduates, skilled workers and candidates recruited through provincial initiatives.
Manitoba has invited 1,304 candidates to apply for provincial nomination through its latest immigration draw, held on October 22, 2026.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) selected candidates across three categories, focusing on graduates, skilled workers already living in the province and applicants recruited through special initiatives.
Successful candidates received Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs), giving them 60 days to submit complete provincial nomination applications.
Of the total invitations, 353 went to candidates who reported having valid Express Entry profiles and job seeker verification codes.
The largest share of invitations went to candidates with post-secondary education connections to Manitoba.
Under the Skilled Worker in Manitoba pathway, the province invited 734 applicants who reported that either they or their spouses had completed post-secondary studies in Manitoba.
The minimum selection score for this category was 816.
Applicants must provide documents supporting their education claims, including academic transcripts and diplomas, when submitting their nomination applications.
This selection recognizes candidates who have already developed educational connections with the province.
Manitoba invited another 513 candidates through its overall top-scoring Skilled Worker in Manitoba category.
The lowest-ranked invited candidate had a score of 846.
Only eligible workers residing in Manitoba were considered for this selection.
Together, the two Skilled Worker in Manitoba categories accounted for 1,247 invitations, representing most of the October 22 draw.
The latest round reflects Manitoba's continued interest in retaining workers who have already established connections within the province.
Another 57 candidates received invitations through Manitoba's strategic recruitment initiatives.
These selections included workers in Manitoba and overseas who had received direct invitations through designated recruitment arrangements.
Employer Services accounted for 21 invitations, followed by the Francophone Community initiative with 16.
Regional Communities received 15 invitations, while Ethnocultural Communities accounted for two.
Three additional invitations went to candidates associated with the now-expired Temporary Public Policy for prospective provincial nominee candidates.
These initiatives allow Manitoba to select applicants through targeted recruitment activities.
Candidates who receive provincial nominations may request work permit support letters from Manitoba.
They can use these letters when applying to the federal government for eligible work permits.
Nominees who submit permanent residence applications may also qualify for Bridging Open Work Permits.
Certain candidates remaining in Manitoba's Expression of Interest pool could qualify for special work permits under a temporary federal measure.
Eligibility depends on several conditions, including having a provincial support letter issued by December 31, 2025, confirming their placement in the pool.
Applicants must also meet specific requirements concerning their existing, expired or renewal-pending work permits.
An invitation to apply does not guarantee provincial nomination or permanent residence. Candidates must satisfy the program's requirements and submit supporting documents within the deadline.
