IRCC's October 15 draw sets the minimum CRS score at 519, offering more candidates with Canadian work experience a chance to apply for permanent residence.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) issued 2,500 invitations to apply (ITAs) for permanent residence through a Canadian Experience Class (CEC) Express Entry draw on October 15, 2026.
Candidates needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 519 to qualify. IRCC also applied a tie-breaking rule requiring candidates with that score to have submitted their Express Entry profiles before 7:00:47 p.m. UTC on September 21, 2026.
The latest round marks Canada's 61st Express Entry draw of 2026.
The October 15 selection invited 500 more candidates than the previous CEC draw on September 29, which issued 2,000 invitations at a CRS score of 518.
Although the invitation count increased, the minimum score rose by one point.
Earlier, on September 15, IRCC invited another 2,000 CEC candidates with a minimum score of 519.
These results show continued demand for candidates who have gained qualifying skilled work experience in Canada.
IRCC conducted three Express Entry rounds during the first half of October.

Throughout 2026, Canada has placed considerable emphasis on immigration candidates with existing connections to the country.
Of the 61 Express Entry rounds conducted this year, 20 targeted provincial nominees and 18 focused on Canadian Experience Class applicants.
IRCC also conducted 10 French-language proficiency draws.
Additional selections targeted healthcare professionals, physicians with Canadian experience, senior managers, trades workers, transport workers and skilled military recruits.
The figures highlight Canada's use of both Canadian experience and specific occupational skills when selecting immigration candidates.
Canadian Experience Class candidates have received 57,250 invitations so far this year, representing the largest share among the listed categories.
French-language proficiency draws account for another 50,500 invitations.
Healthcare and social services candidates received 11,500 invitations, while provincial nominees received 10,022.
Trades selections issued 6,500 invitations. Other categories accounted for smaller numbers.
CEC candidates who receive an invitation must submit their permanent residence applications before they can become eligible for certain work permit options.
Qualifying applicants already living in Canada may apply for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).
Those who apply before their existing work permits expire may qualify for maintained status, allowing them to continue working under their previous permit conditions while remaining in Canada.
Eligible family members may also qualify for open work permits.
