Express Entry Pool Sees Surge, Intensifying Immigration Competition

Canada’s Express Entry pool has grown by over 2,100 profiles between March 15 and April 12, reversing a months-long downward trend. This surge comes despite Canada’s immigration department issuing nearly 14,000 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) during the same period, showing an increase in the number of hopeful immigrants seeking to settle in the country.

Rising Number of Profiles in the Pool

The most noticeable increase in the pool was seen in the 451–480 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score range, where 1,581 additional profiles were added. The growth continued in the higher 501–600 CRS score range, which had been steadily declining for some time. This section saw an increase of 571 profiles, making the pool even more competitive.

The growing number of profiles and ITAs highlights the fierce competition for those looking to immigrate to Canada. The Express Entry system, designed to manage applications for permanent residency in Canada, ranks candidates based on their CRS scores, which assess factors like age, education, work experience, and language skills.
