North Bay Reveals Employers For New Rural PR Program

North Bay has shared the names of employers taking part in its rural immigration program.

North Bay, a city in Northeastern Ontario, has announced a list of employers participating in a special immigration program. This program is called the Rural Community Immigration Pilot (RCIP). It helps foreign workers who have job offers from certain employers in the area to get permanent residence in Canada.

The RCIP covers not only North Bay but also nearby areas like Nipissing District, Parry Sound District, and the Town of Latchford. North Bay is one of 14 communities in Canada taking part in this pilot.

What is the Rural Community Immigration Pilot?

The RCIP is a government program designed to attract workers to smaller towns. If a foreign worker gets a job offer from an approved employer in one of these towns, they can apply to live in Canada permanently.

This program focuses on specific job sectors that are important to the community. It aims to fill labor shortages in these regions by welcoming new residents.

List of Approved Employers in North Bay

The city has shared a list of employers that qualify for the program. They come from different sectors including health, business, trades, education, and sales. Some of the employers are Algonquin Nursing Home, Bay Glass Contracting, Canada Bread, Dawson Dental, and Casey’s Bar & Grill.

Here are some examples of the priority sectors employers cover:

  • Health
  • Business, Finance, and Administration
  • Trades, Transportation, and Equipment Operators
  • Sales and Service
  • Education, Law, Social, Community, and Government Services

North Bay will add more employers to this list as the program grows.

Who Can Apply for This Program?

To qualify, foreign workers need a job offer from one of the designated employers. The job must be on the priority occupation list for the region. Besides this, candidates must meet rules about education, work experience, language skills, and money to settle.

Before applying for permanent residence, workers must get a community recommendation. Their employer applies for this recommendation during special monthly intake periods. In North Bay, this usually happens in the last week of every month.

Once the recommendation is approved, the worker gets a certificate. This certificate allows them to apply to the Canadian immigration authorities for permanent residence.

Work Permits While Waiting

If the worker’s permanent residence application is being processed, they can also apply for a work permit. This lets them start working legally in Canada while waiting for the final decision.

What’s Next?

North Bay continues to update its list of approved employers. This program offers a great chance for skilled workers to settle in a welcoming community. It helps fill important jobs and supports growth in smaller towns.
