IRCC has issued 576 invitations to provincial nominees through the latest Express Entry draw.
Canada has invited 576 Express Entry candidates with provincial nominations to apply for permanent residence in the country.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) conducted the latest Provincial Nominee Program (PNP) draw, selecting candidates who met the required eligibility conditions.
Candidates selected in this round needed a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 734. They also needed to have created their Express Entry profile before 9:39 p.m. UTC on August 29, 2026.
The latest invitation round focused only on candidates with provincial nominations. Through the Provincial Nominee Program, Canadian provinces and territories can select immigrants who match their local labour market and economic needs.
A provincial nomination provides candidates with additional CRS points, significantly improving their chances of receiving an invitation through Express Entry.
After receiving an invitation, candidates can submit their permanent residence application to the federal government.
Candidates already living in Canada may be eligible for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP) after submitting their permanent residence application.
The permit allows eligible applicants to continue working while they wait for a decision on their permanent residence application.
If an applicant’s current work permit expires while their BOWP application is being processed, they may receive maintained status. This allows them to continue working under the same conditions as their existing permit, as long as they remain in Canada.
Eligible family members of applicants may also qualify to apply for a bridging work permit.
With this latest selection round, Canada has completed 54 Express Entry draws in 2026.
Provincial nominees and candidates with Canadian work experience have remained important groups in this year’s immigration selections.
So far in 2026, IRCC has conducted 18 Provincial Nominee Program draws, making it the most frequent draw category after the Canadian Experience Class.
Other draw categories included French-language proficiency, healthcare and social services, physicians with Canadian work experience, senior managers, trades, transportation and skilled military recruits.
Throughout 2026, IRCC has issued 121,732 invitations to apply for permanent residence through Express Entry.
The Canadian Experience Class received the highest number of invitations, with 51,250 issued. French-language proficiency candidates received 50,500 invitations.
The Provincial Nominee Program accounted for 8,537 invitations during the year, while healthcare and social services candidates received 11,500 invitations.
Other categories included trades with 3,000 invitations, transport with 300, physicians with Canadian work experience with 891, senior managers with 750, and skilled military recruits with four invitations.
The latest PNP draw continues Canada’s focus on selecting candidates who already have strong connections to the country, including provincial nominations and Canadian work experience.
