IRCC issued 150 permanent residence invitations under the revised Transport category, with the minimum CRS score rising to 477.
Canada has invited another 150 immigration candidates to apply for permanent residence through its Express Entry system. The latest selection round, held on October 28, 2026, targeted skilled workers eligible under the revised Transport category.
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) required candidates to have a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 477. Applicants needed an Express Entry profile created before June 4, 2026, at 9:48:22 p.m. UTC to meet the tie-breaking requirement at the cutoff score.
The latest results reflect Canada's continued efforts to select workers with skills that support its labour market.
This was Canada's second Express Entry draw under the revised Transport category.
The first round, held on August 7, 2026, invited 300 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 470.
The October selection invited half as many candidates, while the cutoff increased by seven points.
Together, the two rounds have issued 450 invitations to eligible Transport candidates.
An invitation allows a candidate to submit a permanent residence application. It does not guarantee approval.
Canada has conducted 65 Express Entry draws in 2026, issuing 149,409 invitations across different immigration categories.
Recent selections have focused heavily on candidates with Canadian work experience, provincial nominations and French-language skills.
The October 27 French-language draw invited 5,000 candidates with a minimum CRS score of 407.
A day earlier, IRCC invited 792 Provincial Nominee Program candidates with a cutoff of 761.
On October 15, another 2,500 candidates received invitations under the Canadian Experience Class, with a minimum CRS score of 519.
These rounds show how selection requirements vary according to the immigration category.
Candidates already working in Canada may have options to maintain their employment authorization while awaiting permanent residence decisions.
Eligible applicants who have submitted complete permanent residence applications may qualify for a Bridging Open Work Permit (BOWP).
Workers who apply before their existing permits expire may also benefit from maintained status, allowing them to continue working under their previous conditions while awaiting a decision.
IRCC also provides open work permits for certain eligible family members.
Canada will introduce significant changes to Express Entry scoring on November 3, 2026.
The revised system will award additional points for qualifying Canadian work experience and job offers in high-wage occupations.
A total of 186 occupations qualify under three wage categories, based on national median wages.
Under the Labour Market Integration Factor, candidates can receive up to 150 points for eligible Canadian work experience or 100 points for qualifying job offers.
Candidates with accompanying spouses or common-law partners can receive a maximum of 140 points under this factor.
IRCC will award whichever qualifying score is higher rather than combining both.
The changes will also remove Labour Market Impact Assessment requirements for qualifying job offers used to receive CRS points.
A temporary policy will provide additional LMIA exemptions for certain eligible applicants under federal skilled immigration programs.
IRCC plans to pause invitation rounds while recalculating existing candidate scores. The process could take up to two weeks.
The upcoming changes may affect candidates' rankings and future invitation opportunities.
